Episode 1: My experience with Ghosts
Isn't it wild how many stories are out there that feature psychic children who see ghosts? It's almost like our ancestors carried this ghost detecting gene to remind us that souls continue to exist after death. *Thanks a lot, guys!* With countless generations of tales, superstition, and books upon books of horror truisms, the idea of life beyond the veil keeps its place in the world of the living. After all, that idea of non-corporeal beings must have originated from somewhere and created an necessity to pass this knowledge on. The fact that these stories still impact and fascinate us as a society today indicate a natural curiosity that evolved within us... or is it more than that? Is it more than just our human nature to know the unknown, to fall into the trap of the mysterious and unsolvable. Or do we know, but don't fully understand how we know?
*Take a sip of tea for every time I say the word “know”. Don't try this with booze, trust me. I'm gonna keep using it. Peace and love.*
If you were to ask 6 year-old Moon Flower what she thought about the existence of ghosts, she would have probably told you about the little boy she saw out of the corner of her eye. Or the little girl who lives in her new home, that loves to play with dolls and her toys at night. But little Jennie Moon Flower is all grown up! Now I really want to spill the tea on my wonderful life as a psychic who spoke and still speaks with ghosts. I warn you though, its not as horrific or intense as anything from the beautiful twisted minds of those like Stephen King or R.L. Stein *yes, I am giving praise to my favorite horror writers*. It's more mundane like meeting a lonely stranger who just wants someone to notice them... except they are dead. Most of the time, they are invisible as well. Very rarely will an apparition appear to me and still to this day, they only grab my attention with flashes out of the corner of my eye. I can only guess that it takes too much energy to stay in this realm and it drains their spirit to hold a form. In my opinion, slice of life ghost stories have a certain charm to them and Lord knows how much easier it is to encounter more quirky, average-joe type ghosts than angry vengeful spirits.
I will be going into detail with some of my more memorable ghostly encounters and other odd happenings in future content. I call this collection of haunted moments: “I See UnAlive Folk”
In this series I get share the many experiences with spirits and specters that terrified poor baby Moon Flower. Clearly, I am used to it, but it was a long road to get here. Somehow the dead know *drink* if you are a receptor of other worldly stations. They can sense if you see them or if you are capable of sensing their presence. The human brain seems to have antennae that channel frequencies most of us don't know about. It must be a function of our evolution. I think it has to do with mirror neurons, but I am a psychic not a doctor. For the most part it means we connect with each other unconsciously even if only similar to how a closed network functions. *Family data plan, no add-ons, emergency uses only.* If the average person has the psychic bandwidth of a satellite TV that only supports local broadcasting channels, then psychics are basically a 6G network. It's like the universe had me picking up transmissions from Neptune and I was just a fourth grader trying to do math homework.
*I can't be the only one this happens to, right? And don't say it's ADHD! Being a galaxy brain and receiving messages from other dimensions are not mutually exclusive. It just helps to be neurodivergent because our brains are naturally hard-wired to be everywhere all the time.*
I hope my testimony helps anyone out there who has this gift. One of the biggest issues I see when talking about psychic phenomenon is how the media can be a double-edge sword. It is vital that these stories are told and that they don't fade to time, but it matters more how they are told. These accounts can be warped into something unrecognizable in the wrong hands. We come to fear what was never meant to be feared, and put absolute trust into the things we actually need to fear. I believe the responsibility to correct misinformation about the experiences of psychics falls on us. At least we need to be louder than the voices who wish to speak their version of our truth or those who corrupt it with by pretending to have the gift. Though, I do understand it's easier said than done for anyone to speak their truth. It is a very normal, human response to fear standing out from the pack. We all want to be accepted and liked as a person. When the world is looking at you and does not understand, it becomes an uphill battle to accept yourself.
So for all my ghost seeing Peeples, go and peep those ghosts and don't you dare forget you are a treasure on this Earth. The world needs more light and love, so let us be the ones who bring it in.
I look forward to sharing more stories. Stay Shining, my beautiful Starlights!
